Stepping Stone Transitional Housing

The Stepping Stone Transitional Housing Program was a program accommodating families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in a single site housing complex at 660 Winchester Avenue for up to 12 months.

Stepping Stone was formed in 1998 to accommodate the needs of families in New Haven. The goal of the program was to offer families case management services in a safe, supportive environment that fosters the growth and self-sufficiency of each family unit.

Due to a change in funding priorities and strategies by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development and the state Department of Housing, CCA is no longer able to support a transitional housing program model. However, CCA continues to explore opportunities to update this program in a manner that is consistent with its original mission, and we look forward to announcing the next chapter of Stepping Stone soon.
